Why models of North American railway locomotives?

My first model train set was a Triang  double ended diesel passenger set. I think they were based on Australian EMD units but to my mind they were North American. Later I was given an F unit along with some freight stock and later still a Budd RDC. Well all that started the ball rolling. Later I made an excursion into US N scale and finally into HO scale.

The release of Microsoft’s Train Simulator (MSTS) had a big impact. N scale is good for scenery {More for your space} and HO for detail. MSTS, though recognised to be very imperfect, is good for both.

With the newer Rail Simulator come greater opportunities to enjoy this passion. Like any model railroad a never ending process!!!!

Having been a modeller both as a hobby and professionally I can now let my imagination and passion for railways (I suppose it should be railroads) run riot.

On the following pages are some of my offerings. Included are some (updated) re-skinning kits, Britkits, for those who want to have their own livery.

A Note On The Brit-Kits

These Kits are in the process of being upgraded. As a “work in progress” they are sometimes changed. I occasionally give you links to upgrade files. When these are removed the upgrade will have been incorporated in the main “Kit” file. Until the task is finished the Kits should still be considered as “Beta”.  They are intended for those with some knowledge of the inner workings of MSTS, or those willing to experiment.

I am open to any suggestions for improvements which may or may not be incorporated in future upgrades. Being a Brit in “foreign fields” I do appreciate your input.  I prefer you use the above email address for MSTS questions and comments
